Weeknote 23 of 2022

Below is the latest news from the LOTI community, based on the activities we worked on during the week commencing 11 July.

Meeting with our Data Practitioners Network

Last Tuesday we had a meeting with our Data Practitioners Network for a discussion on the data projects that have emerged from the Ward Boundary changes that came in at the last local election on the 5 May. Mark Brennan from Camden and Joe Leach from Lewisham shared insights from their work including the types of projects they have completed and the challenges faced such as how to reconcile the new administrative boundaries that no longer align with existing statistical geographies such as LSOA.

During the session participants contributed to a shared back log of ward boundary and new census data projects to provide our network with a register of potential projects they may need to deliver in the future and a record of the boroughs who might be able to provide guidance and support.  More details including a recording and notes over in the Data Practitioners Basecamp space. If you would like to join the Basecamp space, get in touch with Jay at jay.saggar@loti.london.

Celebrating LOTI turning three

Last Friday we were delighted to host our members in the afternoon for an away day reflecting on the achievements of Year 3, and looking ahead to Year 4. It was then followed by a Year 3 anniversary celebration at The Swan at the Globe, where we were able to celebrate in-person with all our stakeholders, partners and LOTI members. Once again, we would like to thank all our members and partners for making Year 3 such a success!

For more information about LOTI’s initiatives and achievements in Year 3, please check out the LOTI Year 3 annual report.

This week, the team will be:
