Weeknote 18 of 2022

Below is the latest news from the LOTI community, based on the activities we worked on during the week commencing 6 June.

Meeting with our LOTI members

We met with the main representatives of each LOTI borough on Tuesday for our latest monthly all-member session. We briefed our members on the 11 ideas that came out of our recent Climate Goals Design Sprint, which we’ll be reviewing with borough environment leads next week. We also had a presentation from CHR Solutions, a recruitment firm that LOTI commissioned to support our work to help boroughs recruit better. Lawrence Longstaff and Tony Venus shared the progress they have made with salary benchmarking key digital roles, creating new exemplar job descriptions for emerging roles like Data Ethicist and Data Journalist, and developing a guide to using apprenticeship levy funding to upskill councils’ existing technology, digital and data colleagues.

Sharing great digital inclusion initiatives and resources on social media

As we anticipate our upcoming, first-ever, Digital Inclusion Conference on 23 June, LOTI’s social media channels will be sharing daily digital inclusion content for the entire month. Our #LDNDigitalInclusion campaign will include resources we have developed, for example, the digital inclusion mapping, research into digital inclusion report, and also highlighting digital inclusion initiatives in London. If you haven’t already, follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn for the latest updates.

Planning a Supporting Dementia Care Show and Tell (6 July)

Over the last few weeks, LOTI and the Helix Centre have been piloting a solution to help people living with dementia engage digitally. We are excited to share more detail about the pilot and our learnings at our upcoming online show and tell on 6 July at 11 am. Please register for the event on Eventbrite.
